Craft Apps GuideIs ArtCraft free?
The 13 Craft Apps are free. ArtCraft AI Studio has a different price story. The names sit next to each other on the same company's site, which is why the answer can look contradictory in search results. If you want to edit a photo, document, spreadsheet or video on your computer, start with the Craft Apps directory ↗. If you want AI image or video generation in Studio, read its current pricing and credit terms ↗ first.
| What you came to do | Where I would go | What “free” means here |
|---|---|---|
| Edit local files with PhotoCraft, WordCraft, GridCraft or another Craft App | Official 13-app directory ↗ | The official catalog calls these apps free and open source. Your own computer and storage are still yours to provide. |
| Install several apps without hunting for each installer | ArtCraft Launcher release ↗ | The Launcher is the route to those local apps. Match its installer to your OS and CPU. |
| Generate AI images or video with ArtCraft Studio | Studio pricing ↗ | Plans and credits are listed there. The page also describes use without a subscription by bringing your own compute and third-party subscriptions; those third parties may charge separately. |
Do I need to create an account first?
Not to find the local Craft App installers. The official app directory ↗ links to the Launcher and each app's own page. Go there before signing up for anything. A cloud feature or integration may have its own sign-in requirements, and Studio has its own account and payment path. Keep those decisions separate rather than treating “ArtCraft” as one purchase.
Which download should I trust?
For a Craft App, follow getartcraft.com/apps to its product page, or the linked github.com/storytold/.../releases repository. Check the exact product name and file: a Source code ZIP is not the desktop installer. If a product page still shows an older version number, use the original repository's release list to see what is current. The Get ArtCraft Apps guide lists all 13 options; PhotoCraft's standalone guide is for people who only need the image editor.
This page answers what costs money. The safety guide goes deeper on checking download sources and files.
Pricing and product split checked on 2026-10-29 against ArtCraft's app directory ↗ and Studio pricing ↗. Promotional prices and credit allowances can change; the live pricing page wins over numbers quoted elsewhere.
